Welcome to Saint Joseph's College Website

Dear Visitor,
On behalf of the Board of Governors and Staff I would like to welcome you to the St. Joseph’s College website.  We are proud of the work we do here, proud of our students and teachers and pleased to be able to offer you a “snap shot” of the life of our school.

There are many aspects which might appeal to you, catch your interest and encourage you to send your child to St. Joseph’s College.  The dedication of our staff to secure the best possible educational and personal development of our pupils would be abundantly clear where you to travel around the different areas of the College.  We are most proud of the happy and caring environment of St. Joseph’s.  I have no doubt that if you were to visit, you would detect this warm atmosphere in the positive relationships amongst pupils, and between teachers and pupils, as they go about their work in the classrooms, and in  our wide range of extra-curricular activities.

We are an all-ability, co-educational, school offering provision for children from 11 to 18 years of age. We provide a wide range of subjects at KS3 including the choice of three languages. At KS4 our pupils study from a choice of 24 subjects and at Post 16 we offer 15 ‘A’ level subjects and a number of vocational courses. Our staff work closely with external agencies to improve their knowledge and skills in academic and pastoral areas.

We recognise that some children need careful, caring support for particular physical or learning needs, and we have much experience in providing such help, including the use of our After-School Club, where qualified teachers are available to help pupils with homework, and our Saturday GCSE study club.

What St. Joseph’s College can offer your child is a sound educational experience, coupled with a pastoral system of care and compassion for children setting out on the secondary phase of their education.

We are still on course for our new-build school, and are currently in negotiation with the Department of Education over provision and extent of accommodation.

Thank you for taking the time to visit our College website.  I hope that you will find it interesting and informative.

With best wishes.

Yours sincerely
